Day 01 Puerto Varas – Frutillar – Puerto Octay – Villa La Angostura – Bariloche
Departure from your Hotel at 07:30AM we start our trip from Puerto Varas, connecting the route 5 South until we reach the beautiful city of Frutillar, on the shores of Lake Llanquihue. It is an old town of German families, where evidence of their culture is still preserved.
Only 26 km north of Frutillar and continuing the route of the settlers, we will visit a dream city called Puerto Octay. We will arrive at the Panoramic Point “Mirador de los Volcanes”. The beauty of this landscape is enchanting but there is still much more to go…
During the next 80 km we will pass by the Hacienda Rupanco where agricultural and livestock activities give us a glimpse of the richness and fertility of these lands. Bordering the Puyehue Lake, surrounded by dense forests, lakes, volcanoes, valleys, rivers and waterfalls, we will access the Cardenal Samore border crossing, where we will complete the immigration procedures always advised by our guides. This pass integrates the Puyehue National Park in Chile and the Nahuel Huapi National Park in Argentina, until we reach the highest point of the Cordillera at 1,321 meters above sea level. The beauty of the lakes and the transition from the Valdivian jungle to the steppe, offer natural scenery with changing colors of flora and fauna.
At noon, we will arrive at Villa La Angostura, located northwest of Lake Nahuel Huapi. We will visit the most attractive sites of this charming city, walking through its streets, we will observe how despite the growth the place continues to retain its appearance of warm mountain village. We will have time to enjoy lunch (optional). Then we will continue bordering the Nahuel Huapi Lake and we will be able to observe the beauty of the environment of the Argentinean Patagonia until arriving at the beautiful tourist center called Bariloche at approximately 17:00PM.
