From October to April (spring through fall in this hemisphere). Summer (November to February) remains the most popular time to visit, although fall and spring have their own benefits, such as fewer crowds and seasonal colors.

When is the best time to travel to the South of Chile?
The south of Chile, is where the Lakes and Volcanoes district are located.
Many travellers they want to travel in the summer, which is from December to March, but we prefer to recommend the Autumn season from April and May or the Spring season from September to November, because there are fewer people traveling and the colours in the mountains and gardens are wonderful.
The winter months are June, July and August, but they are one of the best months for snow’s lovers or rain’s lovers.
How can I get to the Lakes district?
By Plane:
There are 3 airlines companies.
They are flying from Santiago de Chile to Puerto Montt (El Tepual)
LATAM, Sky Airlines, Jetsmart and they take 1 and half hour.
By Bus:
Santiago to Puerto Varas (12 hours)
The buses are sleeper seats, departures are generally after 06:00PM and arrive in the next day in the morning to Puerto Varas.
